Darksiders
So i was shown some darksiders gameplay footage a few months ago, put it on the back burner of my mind until i was at bestbuy returning a laptop bag that didn't fit my laptop, got store credit and picked it up for the PS3, its out on the xbox360 also.
This is a great game, the best way to describe it is The legend of Zelda OoT meets God of War, with all the blood, gore, and breasts (like 3 but they are on a giant bat thing).
Just beat it today, 13hours of gameplay, great puzzles, fun bosses, the dungeons are set up like classic zelda, new item mini-boss you use it against, and then the boss is lets see if you mastered it.
Most bosses are quite difficult until you learn the patterns, very minimal healing items, you can only carry a few, but there are full heals before each boss fight, your health does not regenerate.
Minor enemies, do a good chunk of damage but never feel cheap, i didnt notice being attacked off screen.
Puzzles start off easy but get progressively harder, and when you finally get it you feel the classic i cant believe i didnt think of that sooner.
The game only lets you have one main weapon, with 2 secondary weapons, with nearly 20 echantment items for the weapons you can set life steal/mana steal/more souls (currency)
Ive only run into one small glitch where i got suck in a walkway, that reforms in front of you when i did the dodge move infront of it and built itself in me.
only real problem i had with the game, was the navi character, a demon voice by mark hammil doing the joker from batman arkham asylum isnt really helpful (no hints at all) except for boss fights, but he is quite funny and insults you most of the time and isnt annoying. The combat controls are quite good except for one move i kept doing unintentionally there is always one, that i regretted buying, called power swing, i wanted to do a spear tackle with the sword but did that a few times.
Aside from some screen tearing and some minor slow down when blowing up a wall, durring a big fight the game was great worth the 60 dolalrs, a solid 8/10, and i hope to see more games in the series.
