alright. one last folky thing. irish cat named Paul Brady. been listening to this guy for a while. yes, he looks like a gingery john denver. my mom's from ireland so i have a soft spot for this kinda thing. and the guy can flat out play. and personally love his picking technique and its one i try and emulate the most. you may have heard Dylan do this next tune, but i believe he learned it from Brady. and whatever you think of Dylan's version of Arthur McBride Brady's is the definitive. at least i think so. anyways
and i believe same goes for Mary and the Soldier with the great Andy Irvine speaking of which, here's a great version of a Bulgarian folk tune with Brady, Irvine and Donal Lunny. they just rip. and one more instrumental. a jig with Brady and Arty McGlynn |

so i was driving to the beer store, and left the radio on before i left and some song called Tik Tok came on by this "artist" named ke$ha, aka baby gaga. Anywho she sounds like a bag of wet cats being thrown though a extremely slow wood chipper. Then i was shown this parody of the song and its quite excellent.
Though in haste I changed the station to Margarita Ville, and in fact was rewarded with a song i had only heard in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. |

I still have some mixed feelings about Dubstep, but some of this shit is just fucking nasty...check out the drop at 55 secs into the first vid if nothing else. I know this music is really an acquired taste...it's starting to grow on me a bit. Def not for everyone...some of it just bores the shit outta me.

Not bad...makes me want to start listening to electronic music again.
Check these guys out...Die Antwoord. Apparently, from what I can gather, they're an "act" and the main guy, "Ninja," has other experimental rap acts, etc. I've read up a bunch on them just trying to figure out if they were being serious (no way in hell). They're kinda like a train wreck, and I'm in love with Yo Landi...anyhoo... |
